Weinberg Book Drive: A Worthy Cause
March is National Reading Month, and the Weinberg Foundation has invited McDonogh to join Baltimore Reads and other community partners to provide thousands of new books to four renovated Baltimore City public school libraries.
They are seeking new books for kids ages 3-14. Collection boxes are located in all three McDonogh libraries. Cash or checks for the purchase of new books can also be sent to to Jersey Frederick, McDonogh Kiplinger Library, 8600 McDonogh Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117. Please make checks payable to McDonogh School with "Weinberg Book Drive" noted in the memo line.

McDonogh Libraries
To align with curriculum and reading levels, McDonogh maintains one library for each of its three divisions: Lower School Leah Watts Dawson Library, Middle School Krauss Library, and Upper School Kiplinger Library.
Libraries respond to the school's purpose and objectives, based on the school's philosophy and mission statement, by maintaining a comprehensive collection of print and electronic materials:
- 45,000 volume collection of print books
- print periodicals and newspapers
- audio-visual collection
- 50+ online research databases providing students 24/7 access to articles, journals, e-books, multimedia and web links.
Librarians work closely with classroom teachers to choose diverse materials that support classroom needs and develop individual interests and abilities.
Library catalogs are available to the public and are accessible via the McDonogh Website.
Each library maintains a class-sized group of computers for students and faculty to access the library catalogs and online resources.
The library hours are as follows when classes are in session:
- 8:30am - 3:45 pm Monday through Thursday
- 8:30am - 2:45 pm Friday.
After Hour Returns - Library materials for any McDonogh library can be returned to the after-hours drop box located in the Kiplinger Library lobby of the Allan Building.
