Camp Red Feather

Ages: For children turning four years old before June 18, 2012 and for five year olds not yet attending Kindergarten.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)

Camp Red Feather is an exciting summer experience for our youngest children. Based in the kindergarten and lower school buildings, this program promises to give the camper a full day of fun and new camping experiences.

Staffed by certified teachers and mature, caring young adults, Camp Red Feather has a camper- counselor ratio of 5 to 1 to assure each camper individual attention.

This program is designed with developmentally appropriate activities and classes for your camper. Arts and crafts, nature and science, horsemanship, story time, computers, instructional swim, foreign language, cooking, sports, games, and much more will round out a truly wonderful summer experience in the sun.

Enrollment is limited and early registration is advised. This program has been sold out for the last 13 years!


Camp Red Eagle

Ages: Children ages 5 to 8
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)

Summer days come alive with good friends in a variety of games, sports, and other fun-filled activities in our traditional day camp program. Camp Red Eagle has been in operation for over 75 years and is one of the most respected day camps in the area. This structured program is specifically designed to develop individual skills and increase general knowledge. The campers will experience a wide variety of organized activities and classes including instructional swim, arts and crafts, music, horsemanship, computers, foreign language, fishing, nature and science, sports, games, and much more. Campers are grouped according to age, and every effort is made to closely monitor each camper’s activities and growth.

Early registration is advised. This program has been sold out for the last 13 years!


Senior Camp

Ages: Boys and Girls 9 to 12
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)
Dates: Session 1: June 18 to July 6
Dates: Session 2: July 9 to July 27
Tuition: One session: $1,195; Both sessions: $2,195

Senior Camp is designed for the experienced camper who wants to continue to enjoy all the fun of a traditional day camp with the added excitement of new, age appropriate activities and off-site field trips. Daily activities will include swimming, music, horsemanship, dance, claymation, sports and games, laser tag, virtual fitness workouts, and computers to name a few.

Early registration is advised as this program has been sold out for each of its five years!!


Outdoor Adventure Camp

Ages: Boys and Girls 10 to 14
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)
Dates: Session 1: June 18 to July 6
Dates: Session 2: July 9 to July 27
Tuition: One session: $1,195; Both sessions: $2,195

Campers will be immersed in activities that include rock climbing, rappelling, team building, orienteering, outdoor skills training, and high and low ropes skills. Each activity will offer a tremendous variety of challenges and group initiatives. Participants will be able to hone team building skills such as leadership, planning and communication while embarking on numerous adventurous and challenging activities.

Our activities will take place at our new Outdoor Adventure Complex which includes a state of the art rock climbing tower, high and low ropes course, team building development course, and acres of forest, streams, and ponds. In addition, campers will travel to our Ultimate Water Sports Program at Gunpowder Regional Park where they will participate in activities ranging from sea kayaking and windsurfing to studying nature on the Chesapeake Bay.


The All Sports Camp

Ages: Boys and Girls 8 to 13
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)

The All Sports Camp is an eclectic camp that offers physically active boys and girls an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports and activities including basketball, soccer, baseball or softball, street hockey, volleyball, touch football, lacrosse, swimming, water polo, frisbee golf, and track and field.

The experienced staff encourages campers to approach each sport with equal enthusiasm and interest, even if that activity is somewhat unfamiliar. The campers are grouped according to age and ability, with friendly competition between groups. In addition to the on site activities, campers will be able to enjoy off site field trips.


Teen Camp

Ages: Boys and Girls 13 to 15
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)

McDonogh’s Teen Camp is the only program designed by teens just for teens. Our oldest campers crave variety, flexibility, field trips, and lots of time to be social. We have combined the best activities from our Day Camps to create this capstone summer program. Our experienced staff will lead these teens as they explore areas of classic camp fun, 21st century technology, make and take culminating projects, and exciting adventure.

A variety of activities are planned that include but are not limited to photography, high and low ropes skills, rock climbing, laser tag, swimming, competitive games, computers, and scavenger hunts. Campers will venture off campus on field trips that include ice skating, visiting Hershey Park, playing miniature golf, enjoying a tubing and sailing trip, and experiencing an overnight adventure.


Counselor-In-Training Program

Ages: Boys and Girls 14 to 16
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F)
Dates: Session 1: June 18 to July 6
Dates: Session 2: July 9 to July 27
Tuition: One session: $995

An introduction to the demands and responsibility of a counselor’s job, the CIT program offers hands-on experience in a supervised setting. Participants will learn activity planning, first-aid, CPR, group-management and leadership skills, as well as leadership and group cooperation techniques.

CITs will have the opportunity to use their newly-learned skills as they assist in the day-to-day operations of Camp Red Eagle and Camp Red Feather. CITs who successfully complete the program at the age of 16 will be given preferential consideration for future employment with McDonogh Summer Programs when they reach the age of 16. A certificate of completion will be awarded to all successful participants.


Fun on the Run Camp

Ages: Boys and Girls 11 to 14
Hours: SOLD OUT.
Dates: July 9 to July 13
Tuition: $SOLD OUT

Fun on the Run Camp is a week of exciting activities ranging from a day at Hershey Park, a day of water activities, bowling, the movie theatre, and much more. Activities will be held both on and off campus and will give middle schoolers an opportunity to come along for the ride, chill with friends and have a great time.
