Benefits for Students and Teachers
McDonogh Forever is a bricks-and-mortar campaign, but its real purpose is people. Campaign projects include spaces that build relationships, encourage conversations, and connect the community. They will strengthen the magical connections between students and teachers, as well as the strong bonds students form with one another.
“The purpose of education is fundamentally cheerful—to draw us out of gloomy solitude and into a conversation with other scholars,” author and radio host Garrison Keillor once said.
Great classrooms and labs enhance the engaged conversation among scholars. Spaces to be built during McDonogh Forever will:
- Connect students and teachers with each other and the world
- Remove distractions
- Inspire achievement
- Help students find their passion.
Conversations don’t stop in classrooms. That's why the St. John Student Center will become such an important place, the hub of campus life. The student center will invite all kinds of formal and informal gathering, including:
- flexible dining for small and large groups, families too
- study throughout the day
- downtime with classmates and teachers
- meetings for groups of all kinds
- classes, lectures, and performances
