Athletic Fields

McDonogh is fortunate to have developed its campus long ago with 19 athletic fields, including four diamonds and a stadium field. These facilities have been great assets to the school’s physical education and athletics programs.

Howard C. "Dutch" Eyth Field, home to the varsity baseball program, requires several renovations to make it suitable for interscholastic competition. Most importantly, the field will be regraded to correct the 8-ft. elevation difference between home plate and center field.

Improvements will also include the replacement of two grass fields with artificial turf for all-weather use. McDonogh is one of few schools in Baltimore that does not have a turf field for practice and competition.

• Turf fields will allow practices and games to be held in most weather conditions.
• Turf fields will also take some pressure off of the grass fields, which currently take a beating throughout the school year and in the summer.
