McDonogh Fund: $7.5 million
- The McDonogh Fund provides essential, annual support for the school’s budget. During the five-year-period beginning in 2010 and ending in 2015, McDonogh is seeking to raise at least $7.5 million for The McDonogh Fund.
Endowment: $2.5 million
- McDonogh encourages donors to establish endowed funds that support school programs. Endowed funds may be created for scholarship, faculty salaries and professional development, as well as for specific academic, arts, athletic and co-curricular programs. The principal remains invested and untouched in perpetuity, generally with five percent of the invested amount being used each year. Many donors choose to honor or memorialize a family member, friend, or faculty member by establishing an endowed fund for them.
- An endowed fund can be established with an outright gift of cash, securities, or a bequest; with a planned gift such as a charitable gift annuity; or with a combination of giving methods.
- To name an endowed fund, 100% of the fund must be committed and funded over a specified and reasonable period of time.
- The actual amount of the endowment draw each year will be set according to Board policy. McDonogh reserves the right to review the minimum amount required so as to ensure that endowment proceeds are sufficient to fund the intended purpose(s) of the endowment.
