Students in all three divisions celebrated the “Year of the Dragon” with song, dance, and skits. Thanks to the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Halbert Uy, lower school students were treated to a traditional lion dance by the Tai Yim Kung Fu School. Following the performance, delighted students had a chance to try on the lion head and dance around. Middle school Mandarin students presented their own version of the lion dance and a Chinese song during a vibrant middle school foreign language assembly that also featured performances by French and Spanish students and a German lesson by teacher Jody Christophe. During an upper school assembly, Mandarin students showcased their kung fu skills, performed a tone and stroke skit, illustrated calligraphy, and sang an emotional song in Mandarin about friendship. All performances included a special wish for a year filled with “good luck.” View the upper school assembly. |
