Middle School Geography Bee

Twenty-seven students competed in the finals of the annual Middle School National Geographic Geography Bee in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre on Friday, January 11. Contestants from grades five through eight who won in their respective social studies classes were quizzed on their knowledge of U.S., world, scientific, and current events geography. After an hour and a half of difficult questions, Willie P. ’12 was declared the champion. McDonogh's own Alex Trebek, longtime social studies teacher Ted Scocos, was the master of ceremonies. Willie will take a written test to see if he qualifies to compete at the state level.
