Cardboard Boat Race
The 20th annual Cardboard Boat Race on June 4 will stand out as the first ever held in the pouring rain. Nevertheless, the 10 boats provided lots of entertainment and fierce competition. PBY Catalina won the Best Overall Boat trophy. The Viking ship Jomungander claimed the Poseidon Adventure award. It sank immediately. Udder Delight disintegrated in the finals, but a clever crew member crossed the finish line as a cow shark. Competitors also included Hannah Montana, the Toga Party, Black Pearl, Star Wars, the Yellow Submarine, the Space Boat, and Sesame Street.
