American Revolution Brought to Life

Seventh graders, who are studying the American Revolution, were transported back in time to 1775 with a visit from two active members of the Maryland Loyalist Batallion. Dressed in authentic uniforms, Captain White of His Majesty's Royal Provincial Army and Retired Ensign Gardner of the King's Army (father of Upper School teacher Alex Gardner), shared their perspectives on the colonial rebellion, the Acts passed by Parliament, and the importance of remaining loyal to the king. Students asked great questions and enjoyed learning about uniforms, weapons, and sentiments of the time.
