The classes of '11, '12, and '13 have set a new standard for lounge decorating in Allan Building. Before school started, class artists and volunteers custom painted the walls of their respective downtime spaces in the 81-year-old Allan basement. The seniors created the most striking area, with Erica J.'s rendering of Allan and Will H.'s colorful "seniors" wordmark. Juniors sprinkled the walls of their lounge with bright "12"s. And sophomores used neon handprints to punctuate their oversized "2013" on the back wall. Was this a competition for McDonogh's Design Star? "Not so much," said a senior. Classmates simply wanted to make the lounges their own.
