Second Graders Fly to Hawaii

On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 10 and 11, Mrs. Lewis's second graders performed "Hawaii, What Really Happened" in the Carpenter Outdoor Theatre. This year's musical focused on Hawaii’s last queen, Liliuokalani, and the takeover of Hawaii by the United States in 1893. With “Maui” as their tour guide, four children flew to Hawaii and met the queen and her brother King Kalakaua. They also encountered the Father of Surfing, Duke Kahanamoku.
